Run your social media from Hermes. It remembers what worked.
Run hermes mcp add with Breakreach's URL and Nous Research's Hermes Agent can post and schedule on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and 10 more networks, answer comments and DMs, and read your numbers, from its terminal or from Slack, Telegram, Discord or WhatsApp. Its memory and scheduler turn that into a routine: last week's numbers every Monday, the next posts drafted from what worked.
Hermes opens your browser to sign in to Breakreach, then asks which tools to turn on.
Checked against Hermes's docs on October 7, 2026. Breakreach is our product.

Add Breakreach to HermesSign in with OAuth, or pass an API key.
Sign in with OAuth
RecommendedOn the machine Hermes runs on, when it has a browser. Hermes registers itself with Breakreach, signs you in, and keeps the token in ~/.hermes/mcp-tokens/.
- 1Add the server
Hermes connects, opens the sign-in, then lists the tools so you can pick the ones it may use. Keep them all, or leave out the ones that publish if you only want reports.
- 2Or write it in config.yaml
The same entry in
~/.hermes/config.yaml. Remote servers speak Streamable HTTP by default, which is what Breakreach serves. Then runhermes mcp login breakreachto sign in. - 3Connect your social accounts
Connect Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and the rest once in Breakreach (Settings, Accounts). Or ask the agent for a link:
create_connect_linkreturns a page where you, or a client, connect accounts without a Breakreach login.
Use an API key
For a gateway on a server, where no browser can finish a sign-in.
- 1Create an API key
In Breakreach, open Settings, API & MCP and create a key. It starts with
br_and reaches every workspace you're a member of. Keep it out of files you commit. - 2Add the server with the key
Hermes asks for the key, saves it in
~/.hermes/.envasMCP_BREAKREACH_API_KEY, and writes the header intoconfig.yamlfor you. - 3What it writes
If the variable is missing, Hermes refuses to connect rather than send the placeholder.
Check it works. hermes mcp test breakreach connects and exits cleanly, and hermes mcp list shows it. In a chat that was already open, /reload-mcp loads the 29 tools.

What is Hermes Agent?
Hermes Agent is Nous Research's open-source agent (MIT licence, about 250,000 stars on GitHub in October 2026). You run it yourself and talk to it from its terminal interface, its desktop app, or a gateway that answers in Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp and Signal. It keeps a memory across conversations, writes and improves its own skills, runs scheduled jobs and subagents, and works with the model provider you choose.
MCP servers plug into it like any other tool, so Breakreach gives it your social accounts: the same 15 networks and the same tools as in Claude or ChatGPT.
Why run social media through Hermes?Memory and a scheduler turn requests into a routine.
- It keeps your preferencesHermes keeps a memory across conversations: tell it once how you like your posts (tone, length, no hashtags) and the next drafts follow it.
- A Monday report, on its ownIts scheduler can run the same request every week and send the answer to your Slack or Telegram: top posts, follower change, what to post next.
- From the phoneThrough the gateway, “answer today's comments” or “what's scheduled this week?” works from a chat on your phone.
- Your posting method as a skillAsk it to save how you post (formats, times, the networks per kind of post) as a skill, and it follows it every time.
How do I keep control of what it posts?
Three settings in the server's entry. tools.include and tools.exclude take name patterns, so a reporting-only Hermes can leave out create_post, send_message and the comment tools. trust: untrusted makes Hermes ask before every tool that isn't marked read-only; Breakreach marks its reading tools read-only, so reports run without a prompt and anything public waits for a yes.
For posts written on a schedule, ask for drafts: they wait in Breakreach until a person schedules them. Deleting a post through Breakreach never removes it from the network.
Can I sign in when Hermes runs on a server?Yes, with one extra step, or a key.
The OAuth sign-in comes back to 127.0.0.1 on the machine Hermes runs on. On a VPS behind your Telegram or Slack gateway, run hermes mcp login breakreach there, open the link on your computer, and paste the address you land on back into the terminal. An SSH tunnel to the callback port works too. The API key avoids all of it: no browser, and the gateway picks up the config within about a minute.
Media works the same way from a server as from a laptop: Breakreach takes public URLs, so a photo sent to Hermes in a chat has to be a link Breakreach can download, not a file on the gateway.
What does it cost?
Creating a Breakreach account and connecting your first social account is free. Scheduling and publishing need a plan, from $29 a month ($23 billed yearly) for 5 accounts, or the Developer plan at $5 per connected account. Signed in with OAuth before you subscribe, the reading tools work and the publishing ones answer with a link to the plans. An API key needs an active plan or trial, and answers 402 otherwise. Hermes is free; the model it runs on is billed by its provider.
Troubleshooting Breakreach in Hermes
hermes mcp test breakreachcan't connectCheck the URL ends in/mcpand that the entry hasauth: oauthor the header. Then runhermes mcp login breakreachto sign in again.- The sign-in never finishes on a serverThe callback lands on 127.0.0.1 of that machine. Paste the address back into
hermes mcp login, use an SSH tunnel, or switch to an API key. - The tools don't show up in the chatStart a new session or send
/reload-mcp. The gateway reloads its config within a minute. - 401 or 402 with an API key401: the key is wrong or deleted. 402: API keys need a plan or a trial.
- “Media is required for: instagram”Give a link to the image or video, not a file sent in the chat.
