The social media comments API.Every network's comments, one shape.
Breakreach's comments API returns the recent comments on your Instagram, Facebook and Threads posts, and the replies to your X posts, in one list with one shape, and POST /v1/comments/reply answers any of them. It reads posts made outside Breakreach too, and comments are read live from each network.
Checked against the API code on October 7, 2026. Breakreach is our product.

Which comments does the API read?Your latest posts, made with Breakreach or not.
GET /v1/comments looks at the latest 10 posts of every connected Instagram, Facebook and Threads account, including posts published in the network's own app, and returns their comments newest first. Replies to a comment are nested under it. On X it reads the replies to posts published through Breakreach only, because reading a whole X timeline costs API credits on X's side.
Each comment carries what you need to answer it (id, accountId, platform), plus the post's text, link and image so a person or an agent knows what the comment is about. Filter with platform or accountId.
For one post, GET /v1/posts/:id/comments reads the comments live on every network the post went to. GET /v1/post-insights returns a post's comments next to its metrics, for any post on a connected account.
Are comments stored or read live?
Read live from each network on every call, so a deleted comment disappears and a new one shows at once. Nothing is cached on Breakreach's side.
When one account fails (an expired token, a permission the network withdrew), the others still answer: the failure comes back in errors with the account and the reason, instead of failing the whole call.
Can I hide or delete comments? From the MCP server, today.
Hiding keeps a comment from the public without deleting it, and it can be undone: Instagram, Facebook and Threads support it. Deleting is permanent and works on Instagram and Facebook. Both are MCP tools (hide_comment, delete_comment), so an agent in Claude Code or OpenClaw can clear spam on request; they aren't REST endpoints yet.
What are the rules for replying?
- InstagramReplies thread under the comment. Instagram's API only reaches professional accounts, which is what Breakreach connects.
- FacebookReplies post as the Page.
- ThreadsReplies post as the profile, under the reply you answer.
- XReplies post as a reply to the reply, from your account.
Keep replies human. Every network limits automated replies in its own terms, and a reply posted through the API is public under your name like any other.
What does the comments API cost?
The Developer plan costs $5 a month per connected account up to 20, $3 from 21 to 100 and $2 after that, never per call or per post. The API also comes with every regular plan, from Starter at $29 a month for 5 accounts. Comment reads and replies aren't counted.
Agents get the same calls. As MCP tools, no code to write.
Comments are where an agent saves the most time: “answer the questions in today's comments and hide the spam” is one sentence in Claude Code or OpenClaw, and the agent shows you its replies first if you ask it to.

Yes. POST /v1/comments/reply with the accountId, platform, commentId and message posts the reply as your professional account, threaded under the comment.
Not yet. Poll GET /v1/comments, which is read live, on the schedule you need.
Yes, through the MCP server: list_recent_comments, reply_to_comment, hide_comment and delete_comment. Hiding is reversible, deleting isn't.
