Add the server and sign in
Set the transport: OpenClaw defaults to SSE, and Breakreach speaks Streamable HTTP. openclaw mcp login opens Breakreach's sign-in and waits for the answer on 127.0.0.1.

Create an API key
In Breakreach, open Settings, API & MCP and create a key. It starts with br_ and reaches every workspace you're a member of. Keep it out of files you commit.

Add the server to openclaw.json
In ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json (JSON5). OpenClaw fills ${BREAKREACH_API_KEY} from the gateway's environment; variable names must be uppercase. openclaw mcp add … --header "Authorization=Bearer br_…" writes the same entry from the terminal.

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is an open-source personal AI assistant (MIT licence) that you run yourself, on your computer or a small server, and talk to from the chat apps you already use: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, iMessage, Signal and more. It connects to tools through MCP servers and skills, so adding Breakreach gives it your social accounts.

That makes it a good fit for the jobs that come up away from a desk: a comment that needs an answer, a quick “post this tonight”, a look at yesterday's numbers in the morning.

Can I send it a photo from my phone?Not yet, it needs a public link.

Breakreach's server takes media as public URLs. A photo you send in WhatsApp or Telegram arrives as a file on your OpenClaw machine, and Breakreach's server can't download it from there. Send a link to the image instead: on your site, in a bucket, or any URL that downloads the file. Text posts on X, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook, Bluesky, Reddit, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Mastodon and WordPress need nothing more.

Who can make it post?Whoever can message your assistant.

OpenClaw acts with the Breakreach account it signed in with, so anyone who can talk to it can ask it to post or reply. Keep the channels it listens on to yourself with OpenClaw's pairing and allowlists, and give a shared assistant its own Breakreach workspace with only the accounts it should touch.

For anything that goes out in public, ask for drafts (“save it as a draft”) and approve them in Breakreach. Deleting a post through Breakreach never removes it from the network.

What does it cost?

Creating a Breakreach account and connecting your first social account is free. Scheduling and publishing need a plan, from $29 a month ($23 billed yearly) for 5 accounts, or the Developer plan at $5 per connected account. Signed in with OAuth before you subscribe, the reading tools work and the publishing ones answer with a link to the plans. An API key needs an active plan or trial, and answers 402 otherwise. OpenClaw is free; the model it runs on is billed by its provider.

Troubleshooting Breakreach in OpenClaw

The connection fails right awayCheck the transport is streamable-http. Without it, OpenClaw tries SSE, which Breakreach doesn't serve.
openclaw mcp login never finishes on a serverThe sign-in answers on 127.0.0.1 of the gateway's machine. On a headless server, use an API key.
${BREAKREACH_API_KEY} isn't replacedSet it in the gateway's environment, with an uppercase name, and restart the gateway.
401 or 402 with an API key401: the key is wrong or deleted. 402: API keys need a plan or a trial.
