How we roast Morning Light

Northbeam Coffee·Oct 8·1 min read

Eleven minutes from green bean to bag. We start low to dry the beans, push through first crack, then stop early to keep the honey and orange notes.

That early stop is why it tastes lighter than our other coffees, and why it works as well in a latte as in a pour-over.

Why run Hashnode from a conversationClaude writes, Breakreach publishes.

Hashnode is a blog for developers, and the step people skip is the copy: the article is written on your own site or in a doc, and putting it on Hashnode with a cover, tags and the canonical URL is one more chore. Handing it to the assistant with a time closes that gap, and the same request can share it on LinkedIn and X.

Nothing runs on your machine. Once a post is scheduled, it publishes from our servers, so Claude can be closed and your laptop can be off.

Set it up in two minutes.7 steps, once.

What you can post to HashnodeAnd how to ask for each.

  • ArticleThe first line is the title and the rest is the body, sent to Hashnode as Markdown, so ## headings, lists, links and code blocks render the way Hashnode draws them. A text that's one block gets a title cut from its start and stays whole as the body.Publish these notes as a post on our Hashnode blog
  • Cover and photosThe first photo is the post's cover, and up to 9 more follow the text. Breakreach copies them to Hashnode's CDN first. Videos are left out: Hashnode's API only takes images.Use the roastery photo as the cover
  • Tags, canonical URL and draftsUp to 15 tags, which Hashnode creates if they don't exist yet. When the article first ran elsewhere, give its address and Hashnode sets it as the canonical URL. Or ask for a draft, which waits in the blog's Hashnode dashboard.Tag it coffee and roasting, with the canonical URL pointing to our site

Let Claude write the Hashnode postThen say what to change.

Give the assistant the article, or your notes and who the post is for. Ask for a first line that works as a title, since that's what it becomes, and keep the Markdown: Hashnode renders headings, lists and code as written. Read it in the chat, ask for changes, then schedule it.

Write a 900-word post from these notes, title first, with ## sections and one code example

Shorten the title and add three tags

How it did

Views, reactions and comments for each post, and the blog's followers. Ask how did last week's post do? and the numbers come back in the chat. A post saved as a draft on Hashnode reports no counts to Breakreach, even after you publish it there.

Edit or delete it

Until it goes out, you can change anything from the conversation: move it to Friday, change the caption, turn it back into a draft. A failed post can be fixed and rescheduled the same way. Once it's published, the connector can't edit or delete it on Hashnode, and deleting it in Breakreach only takes it off the calendar, so edit or remove a published post in the blog's Hashnode dashboard.

What Hashnode requiresAnd the limits to know.

  • A Hashnode blog on Hashnode Pro ($5 a month per seat). Since May 2026, Hashnode only opens its API to Pro blogs, so Breakreach skips the others.
  • A blog you own. A team blog where you're only a member doesn't show up, because Hashnode's API doesn't list it.
  • The first line of your text becomes the post's title.
  • The first photo becomes the cover; up to 9 more photos follow the text. Videos are left out.
SpecHashnode
TitleThe first line of your text. A text without a separate first line gets a title cut from its start.
BodyMarkdown, sent as you write it: ## headings, lists, links, **bold** and code blocks.
MediaOptional. The first photo is the cover; up to 9 more photos follow the text. No video.
BlogA blog you own, on Hashnode Pro. Hashnode's API doesn't answer for the others.

What it can't do yet

  • Blogs without Hashnode Pro: Hashnode's API doesn't answer for them, so Breakreach can't post there.
  • Team blogs where you're only a member: Hashnode's API only lists the blogs you own.
  • Series, subtitles, SEO fields and co-authors.
  • Videos: the post goes out without them.

Three things people do with it

  • Copy an article from your own site to Hashnode with the canonical URL pointing home, so search engines credit the original
  • Publish the release notes on Hashnode and their LinkedIn and X posts in one request
  • See which posts got the most views and reactions last month, and write the next one like them

A safe routine for a teamDrafts first, then the calendar.

  • Ask for drafts, not postsSay save it as a draft and nothing is scheduled. Drafts land in the Breakreach calendar, where the team can read them, and schedule the draft for Thursday at 9 AM turns one into a post.
  • Review in the calendarEvery Hashnode post, from Claude, the API or the app, sits on the same calendar with its time, account and media. Open one to edit it or move it.
  • Name the brandWith several workspaces, the connector uses your first one unless you name another, so say which brand the post is for.
  • Approve each postSet Claude to ask before it acts (details below), so nothing is published without someone clicking allow.
  • Know when something failsA post that hits a temporary error is retried up to three times over 30 minutes. If it still fails, it's marked failed in the calendar with a notification, and you can fix and reschedule it from the chat.
  • Revoke access anytimeDisconnect the connector in Claude and the assistant can't post any more. Posts already scheduled stay in the calendar until you cancel them.

Using the connector in ClaudePlans, confirmations, phones.

  • Which plans have itConnectors from Claude's directory work on every plan, Free included. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner first adds the connector for the organization in Organization settings → Connectors, then each member signs in with their own account.
  • Confirmations before postingClaude asks before using a tool, with Allow once or Always allow. In Customize → Connectors → Breakreach → Tool permissions you can set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked: for example, reading posts always allowed and creating posts needing approval. Research mode can call connector tools without asking.
  • Web, desktop and phoneConnectors work on claude.ai, in the desktop apps and in the iOS and Android apps. Add Breakreach on the web or desktop, and it's available on your phone the next time you log in.
  • DisconnectingIn Customize → Connectors, select Breakreach: Disconnect signs Claude out, and Remove in the menu takes it off your account. Posts already scheduled in Breakreach still go out.

Other ways to post to Hashnode from ClaudeAnd when they're the better choice.

  • Hashnode's own schedulingHashnode Pro schedules drafts to publish at a date and time, from the blog's dashboard. Better when the post is already written in Hashnode's editor. Hashnode Pro
  • Hashnode's MCP serverHashnode runs its own server at mcp.hashnode.com/mcp for Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and other MCP clients. It creates, reads, updates, lists and deletes posts, and everything but reading a post needs Pro. Better for editing posts you've already published. Hashnode changelog
  • Hashnode's CLI and GitHub ActionThe CLI publishes a Markdown file from the terminal, and the GitHub Action publishes the files you push to a repository, updating a post when its file changes. Both need Pro. Better when your posts live in Git. Hashnode CLI, GitHub Action
  • Copy and pasteAsk the assistant for the article, then paste it into Hashnode's editor. Free, works without Pro, and fine for one post, but the cover, the tags and the timing are yours to set.

When it doesn't workThe fixes for what people run into.

  • “Hashnode's API only works on blogs with Hashnode Pro”Since May 13, 2026, Hashnode answers API requests only for blogs on Pro, and Breakreach goes through that API. Upgrade the blog in its Hashnode dashboard, under Billing ($5 a month per seat), then connect again. Hashnode turns the API on as soon as checkout goes through.
  • My team blog isn't in the listBreakreach shows the blogs your token's owner owns. Hashnode's API doesn't list team blogs you were invited to, so they can't be picked. The blog's owner can connect it with their own token.
  • “Hashnode didn't accept the access token”The token was deleted in Hashnode's developer settings. Generate a new one there and connect Hashnode again from Breakreach's Settings; your scheduled posts stay in place.
FAQ

Questions, answered.

Short answers about posting to Hashnode from Claude.

No. Scheduled posts publish from Breakreach's servers at the time you chose, so you can close Claude and your laptop.

Yes. Breakreach publishes through Hashnode's official API with an authorization you grant, and you can revoke it at any time. Your password is never shared.

Creating an account and connecting your first social account is free. Scheduling and publishing need a plan, from $29 a month ($23 billed yearly), and you can cancel anytime.

Yes. The same connector handles Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube and more, and one request can publish to several networks at once.

Yes. Ask Claude to save drafts, then review and edit everything in the Breakreach calendar before it publishes.

With a link. The connector takes media as links it can download, such as a file on your website or a public cloud storage link, and copies the file to Breakreach's storage before posting.

Yes, with a connector that holds access to your blog, like Breakreach or Hashnode's own MCP server. Both need Hashnode Pro on the blog. Once it's connected, the assistant can write a post and publish or schedule it, with a cover and tags.

Since May 13, 2026, Hashnode's API only answers for blogs on Hashnode Pro, $5 a month per seat; Hashnode says scrapers and spammers were abusing the free API. Breakreach goes through that API, and Hashnode's own MCP server and CLI need Pro to write too.

A Personal Access Token can publish, edit and delete on every blog you own, so treat it like a password. Breakreach uses it to list your blogs, publish the posts you schedule and read their stats. Delete it in Hashnode's developer settings and Breakreach loses access.

Yes. One token reaches every blog you own: Breakreach lists the ones on Pro and you tick those it should post to. Each becomes its own account, so name the blog in the request.
