Each cell reads billed monthly / billed yearly, per month, before tax, from each vendor's pricing page on October 29, 2026. Postiz at 15 and 30 accounts is its Pro plan (30 channels). Buffer's yearly price is about two months free on its monthly one. Zernio bills monthly per connected account, graduated, with the first 2 free. Breakreach's Agency plan is billed monthly only. The last row is what each tool's MCP server can do, from its published tool list.

Why people leave PostizAnd where each reason points.

Self-hosting means an app review on every network

Postiz is free to self-host under AGPL-3.0, but its docs say you register an app on each platform's developer portal and set the keys yourself; only ten platforms, such as Bluesky, Dev.to and WordPress, skip that step. Postiz's own FAQ says Meta and YouTube approvals usually take more than a month. You also run PostgreSQL, Redis and Temporal.

Where to go: Postiz cloud skips all of it from $23 a month. Breakreach, post-bridge and Buffer are hosted too, with their network apps already approved. To stay on your own server, Mixpost Pro is a one-time $299, though it also needs your own Facebook app.

The connector doesn't read comments or DMs

Postiz's MCP server lists channels, schedules and deletes posts, uploads media and generates video and images. Its tool list in the repo has nothing to read or answer comments and nothing for DMs. Its MCP page says analytics are available, but we found no analytics tool in that list on October 29, 2026.

Where to go: Breakreach's connector reads and answers comments and DMs and pulls analytics, from Claude or ChatGPT. Zernio's hosted MCP covers comments and DMs too, built for developers.

Standard has no team members

The $29 plan covers 5 channels with no team support. Members start on Team, $39 a month for 10 channels.

Where to go: Postiz Team is a fair answer in itself. Elsewhere, Buffer Team gives unlimited members from $10 per channel billed yearly, and Breakreach Pro covers 15 accounts and 3 members for $39.

Channels that disconnect and posts that fail

Postiz's GitHub issues carry recurring reports of channels that won't connect (#918, 56 comments), tokens that need a reconnect (#1351) and Instagram posts that fail (#1562). Most come from self-hosted installs, and they're user reports, not confirmed bugs.

Where to go: Whichever tool you pick, check how it tells you a post failed. Breakreach retries rate limits and timeouts on its own, keeps the network's error on a post that fails and puts it in the notification bell, and warns you before an account's access expires.

When to stay on Postiz

Postiz is the cheapest hosted scheduler with an API past 10 accounts (30 channels for $39 a month billed yearly, 100 for $79), posts to 30 networks including Twitch, Kick, Farcaster, Lemmy and LinkedIn Pages, generates video and images inside the app, and is open source. If those matter more than comments and DMs from your assistant, stay.

The alternatives, in depth. What each one does better than Postiz, and what it doesn't.

#1

Networks
20: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn (personal profiles), YouTube, X, Facebook (Pages), Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Reddit, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Mastodon, WordPress (self-hosted), Ghost, Dev.to, Hashnode, Tumblr, Google Business Profile

Breakreach's connector is in both Claude's and ChatGPT's directories, like Postiz's, and goes past scheduling: it reads analytics, answers comments and replies to DMs on 20 networks. Starter costs the same as Postiz Standard ($23 billed yearly for 5 accounts). Pro covers 15 accounts and 3 members for $39, and Agency covers 50 accounts with unlimited members for $69 a month, then $2 per account.

Past 15 accounts Postiz is cheaper, and it covers networks Breakreach doesn't, such as Twitch, Kick and LinkedIn Pages. Breakreach isn't open source and doesn't generate video. Breakreach is our product, so weigh this block accordingly.

Good for

  • Runs from Claude or ChatGPT: in both directories, with posts, analytics, comment replies and DMs
  • Reddit, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Mastodon, WordPress, Ghost, Dev.to, Hashnode, Tumblr and Google Business Profile next to the usual networks; Instagram carousels, TikTok photo posts, multi-photo Facebook posts
  • REST API and MCP server on every plan

Watch out for

  • No free plan: the account is free, scheduling needs a plan
  • No approval workflows and no social listening
  • No LinkedIn Company Pages, no X threads
#2

post-bridgeThe swap for one marketer on 15 accounts

Best for
One marketer with 6 to 15 accounts
Pricing
Marketer $39 a month or $32.50 billed yearly (15 accounts, API and MCP); Operator $99 or $82.50 (99 accounts, then $1 each, team members); 7-day trial
Networks
10: X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business

post-bridge website, September 2026

post-bridge is built for one person cross-posting fast: Marketer covers 15 accounts with unlimited posts, the API and an MCP server for $39 a month ($32.50 billed yearly). Its connector is in both Claude's and ChatGPT's directories and covers posts, media and analytics.

Team members only come with Operator ($99 for 99 accounts), it posts to 10 networks, and its MCP server has no comment or DM tools.

Good for

  • Unlimited posts, the API and MCP on the $39 plan
  • In Claude's and ChatGPT's directories
  • Built for one person cross-posting fast

Watch out for

  • No plan under 15 accounts
  • Team members only on Operator ($99)
  • Analytics still labeled beta
#3

BufferThe swap for a free start

Best for
Small teams on a few channels who want a free start and simple approvals
Pricing
Free (3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each); Essentials $6 per channel a month or $5 billed yearly, $4 from the 11th channel; Team $12 or $10 billed yearly (unlimited members, approvals); 14-day trial
Networks
12: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Substack
buffer.com
buffer.com
Buffer website, September 2026

Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, and includes an API key and its MCP server. Paid plans charge per channel: $6 a month on Essentials ($5 billed yearly) for the first 10, less after that. It's the cleanest product here at 1 to 5 channels.

Past 10 channels it costs more than Postiz: 30 channels run $135 a month. Its MCP server, listed in Claude's directory, publishes and reads metrics but has no comment or DM tools.

Good for

  • A real free plan, with an API key and Buffer's MCP server
  • Approvals and unlimited team members on Team, from $10 per channel billed yearly
  • The cleanest product at 1 to 3 channels

Watch out for

  • The bill grows with every channel: 25 channels cost $100 a month billed yearly
  • Not in ChatGPT's Plugins directory: ChatGPT needs developer mode
  • Its MCP server has no comment or DM tools
#4

ZernioThe swap for developers

Best for
Developers who want comments and DMs through an API and MCP
Pricing
First 2 accounts free with no card; then $6 per account a month for accounts 3 to 10, $3 for 11 to 100 and $1 from 101 (graduated); X API fees passed through at cost
Networks
16, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Snapchat and Google Business Profile (Reddit marked temporarily unavailable on October 29, 2026)
zernio.com
zernio.com
Zernio website, September 2026

Zernio is an API with a dashboard, priced per connected account with no plans or seats: the first 2 are free, then $6 each up to 10 and $3 up to 100. Its hosted MCP server, in Claude's directory, covers posts, analytics, comments and DMs, so an agent can work the inbox as well as the calendar.

It's built for developers, and its docs read that way. ChatGPT needs developer mode, posting to X adds X's API fees, and Reddit was marked temporarily unavailable when we checked.

Good for

  • Hosted MCP server covering posts, analytics, comments and DMs
  • In Claude's connector directory
  • No plans or seats: 10 accounts cost $48 a month

Watch out for

  • Built API-first: the docs assume a developer
  • ChatGPT needs developer mode
  • X's per-request API fees land on your bill

MixpostThe self-hosted swap, paid once

Best for
Teams that want to self-host and pay once
Pricing
Lite free and open source (MIT; Facebook Pages, X and Mastodon only); Pro $299 one-time for 1 domain with 1 year of updates; Enterprise $1,199 one-time; Mixpost Cloud from $29 a month, API and MCP from Momentum ($49)
Networks
Pro: 12, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pixelfed, Google Business Profile
mixpost.app
mixpost.app
Mixpost website, October 2026

Mixpost is the other self-hosted option. Lite is free and MIT-licensed but posts only to Facebook Pages, X and Mastodon. Pro costs $299 once for a domain and covers 12 networks, with the API, an MCP server and webhooks, and keeps working after its year of updates.

Self-hosting work doesn't go away: its docs walk you through creating your own Facebook app, and it runs on PHP 8.3, MySQL and Redis. Pro is source-available, not open source.

Good for

  • Pay once: Pro keeps working after its year of updates
  • API, MCP and webhooks in Pro
  • Lite is free and MIT-licensed

Watch out for

  • Self-hosting still means your own developer app on each network, a Facebook app for Facebook and Instagram
  • Runs on PHP 8.3, MySQL and Redis
  • Pro is source-available, not open source, and isn't in Claude's directory

Postiz or Breakreach?A quick way to decide.

Choose Postiz if

  • You want the lowest hosted price past 15 accounts
  • You need Twitch, Kick, Farcaster, Lemmy or LinkedIn Pages
  • You want to self-host and own the code (AGPL-3.0)
  • You generate video and images inside the scheduler

Choose Breakreach if

  • You want Claude or ChatGPT to answer comments and DMs, not only schedule
  • You want analytics in the same chat as your posts
  • You'd rather not run servers or wait on network app reviews

How to switch from PostizWithout losing a scheduled post.

  1. 1List what's scheduledOpen Postiz's calendar and note what's queued for the next two weeks. Let those posts go out from Postiz while new ones go into the new tool.
  2. 2Connect your accountsConnect each network in the new tool. In Breakreach, Instagram connects through Instagram's own login (Creator or Business account) and Facebook through your Pages, using Breakreach's approved apps, so there's no developer portal.
  3. 3Recreate your posting timesSave your usual slots as a posting schedule, so every new post lands on the next free one.
  4. 4Move the rest of the queuePostiz's MCP server can list your posts. With both connectors added to Claude, ask it to read your scheduled Postiz posts and recreate each one in Breakreach at the same time.
  5. 5Cancel once the queue is emptyOn Postiz cloud, cancel once the last scheduled post is out. Self-hosted, back up the PostgreSQL database before you shut the server down.
