LinkedIn MCP servers in 2026.Which ones post, and which ones scrape.
There is no official LinkedIn MCP server that posts. The options are servers built on LinkedIn's official API, which post as you within its rules (Breakreach's hosted connector, or open-source servers with your own LinkedIn app), and servers that drive your logged-in browser to read profiles, jobs and messages, which LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits.

We planned three blends for the fall. We launched one. Fewer choices made it easier to pick, and every bag got our full attention. Here is what we learned.

To post to LinkedIn from an assistant, use Breakreach. We built it, so here's the case.
Connect LinkedIn- Within LinkedIn's rules: it posts through the official API with your OAuth sign-in, no browser session
- Nothing to install: a sign-in from Claude's or ChatGPT's directory, or one URL in Claude Code and Cursor
- The same connector schedules, answers comments and DMs, and reads stats on your other networks, Reddit, Telegram and Discord included
When to pick something else. On LinkedIn alone, Breakreach does less than some: Buffer and Postiz also post to Company Pages, which Breakreach doesn't. If Company Pages are the job, start there.
The kinds of LinkedIn MCP serverHow each one gets to your account.
Official API, with your own LinkedIn app
Open-source servers like souravdasbiswas/linkedin-mcp-server use LinkedIn's Share on LinkedIn product: you create an app in LinkedIn's developer portal, add the product, and sign in with OAuth. It's self-serve and within the rules. You run the server yourself, keep it updated, and it posts as you only.
Official API, hosted
Breakreach runs the server and the LinkedIn app for you. You add the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, sign in to LinkedIn once, and ask. Nothing to install, and scheduled posts publish from our servers with the chat closed.
Your logged-in browser
stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server, the most-starred one (over 3,700 stars on GitHub in October 2026), drives a real Chromium browser signed in as you. That's how it reaches profiles, jobs and messages. LinkedIn's User Agreement, section 8.2, prohibits software that scrapes the service and bots that send messages or create posts, so you take that risk on your own account.
Ads and data, not posting
LinkedIn publishes two apps in ChatGPT, one to look up profiles and one for ad performance, and neither posts. Data providers such as Bright Data sell MCP access to public profile and company data they collect themselves.
What LinkedIn's API lets a server doThe rules every server works within.
- Post as yourselfThe w_member_social permission, granted by the Share on LinkedIn product, lets an app post text, links, images and video as the member who signed in. It's self-serve, limited to 150 requests per member per day.
- Post as a Company PageOnly through the Community Management API, which LinkedIn calls a vetted product: a development tier first, then a standard tier that needs a screencast of each use case. That's why most tools, Breakreach included, post to personal profiles only.
- Read your own post statsMember post statistics sit behind the same vetted API, and r_member_social, the permission to read your own posts, is closed to new requests, per LinkedIn. That's why Breakreach doesn't report LinkedIn stats yet.
- Profiles, jobs, messagesNone of these is open to a regular app. A server that offers them is driving a browser.
What Breakreach's LinkedIn tools doAnd what they don't, yet.
What you can ask for
- Text postsUp to 3,000 characters on your personal profile. Line breaks are the only formatting LinkedIn keeps.
- Posts with an imageOne image with the text. If LinkedIn refuses the image, the text still goes out.
- Scheduling, drafts and the next free slotThe assistant can schedule at a time you give, fill the next free slot of your posting schedule, or save a draft for you to finish.
- The same post on other networksOne request can post to LinkedIn, X, Threads and the rest, each with its own text.
Not yet, or not possible
- Company Pages: personal profiles only
- Video, documents (PDF carousels) and polls
- Post stats, since LinkedIn doesn't give them to the connector
- Comments
- Staying connected forever: LinkedIn asks for a reconnect about every 60 days, and Breakreach warns you two weeks ahead

In Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP clientOne hosted server, OAuth or an API key.
The server lives at https://api.breakreach.com/mcp and speaks Streamable HTTP, so there is nothing to install. Clients that handle OAuth sign you in; others send an API key from Settings → API & MCP.

}What to askThree requests that work on LinkedIn today.
- “Turn these notes into a LinkedIn post under 1,300 characters, no hashtags”
- “Make the first line a sharper hook and schedule it for Tuesday at 9 AM”
- “Write the same launch for LinkedIn and X, each in its own tone, and post both tomorrow morning”

Short answers about LinkedIn MCP servers.
Not one that posts. LinkedIn publishes two apps in ChatGPT, one to look up profiles and one for ad performance, and neither creates posts. Every LinkedIn MCP server that posts is built by a third party on LinkedIn's API.
Only one built on LinkedIn's Community Management API, a vetted product with its own application and review. Breakreach posts to personal profiles only.
It depends on how they connect. Servers on the official API with OAuth stay within LinkedIn's rules. Servers that drive your logged-in browser do what section 8.2 of LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits, and the risk falls on your account.
In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Discover, search Breakreach, Connect. In ChatGPT: Settings → Plugins, search Breakreach, Connect. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http breakreach https://api.breakreach.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Then connect LinkedIn in Breakreach and ask.
Not yet. LinkedIn keeps member post statistics behind its vetted Community Management API, and the permission to read your own posts is closed to new requests. Check each post's numbers on LinkedIn.
