Social media safe zone checker.Every network's safe zone, on one frame.
Drop an image or a video and see it on TikTok, Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts and Pinterest at once, with each network's official safe zone drawn over it. A 660 × 842 pixel box, 120 pixels from the left and 288 from the top of a 1080 × 1920 frame, is clear on all of them.

Put the zones on top of each other and each edge comes from a different network: YouTube Shorts sets the top at 288 pixels, Pinterest the bottom at 1,130 and the right at 885, TikTok the left at 120, and TikTok's button column cuts the lower right corner from 780 pixels across and 840 down.
The largest clean box left is 660 × 842 pixels, from x 120 and y 288, about a quarter of the frame. For a headline that must read everywhere, keep it between 288 and 840 pixels down. If you don't post to Pinterest, the box grows to 660 × 960.
TikTok safe zone
TikTok publishes its safe zone as a template for In-Feed ads, drawn on a 720 × 1280 frame. Scaled to 1080 × 1920: 240 pixels at the top, 660 at the bottom, 120 on each side, and a 180-pixel column of buttons on the right from 840 pixels down. Organic videos get the same buttons and caption. More in the TikTok video size guide.
Instagram and Facebook Reels and Stories safe zone
Meta's Ads Guide asks to keep 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% on each side clear for Reels and Stories, on Instagram and Facebook: 269, 672 and 65 pixels on 1080 × 1920. Ads with a disclaimer should keep the bottom 40% clear, and Stories ads with a call-to-action sticker 14% at the top and 20% at the bottom.
Meta's general help page on safe zones now only says to keep the edges clear, and its Facebook Stories video spec gives lighter numbers; the Reels and Stories pages of the Ads Guide keep 14, 35 and 6. See the Reel size and Story size guides.
YouTube Shorts safe zone
YouTube publishes no safe zone for organic Shorts. Google's own numbers are for vertical video ads, which include Shorts: 288 pixels at the top, 672 at the bottom, 48 on the left and 192 on the right, with the buttons down the right side. The Shorts player that organic videos get puts its interface in roughly the same places, so they are the best guide there is.
Pinterest safe zone
For full-screen video pins, Pinterest's pin specs ask to keep 270 pixels at the top, 790 at the bottom, 65 on the left and 195 on the right clear. It is the tallest bottom margin of any network here, and the one that sets the bottom of the area safe everywhere.

Under the tool, each button downloads a transparent 1080 × 1920 PNG with that network's covered areas shaded and its safe area outlined, plus one with every network at once. Drop it on a layer above your video in CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut or Canva, place your text inside the outline, and hide the layer before you export.
Snapchat, LinkedIn and Threads
Three networks aren't in the checker. Snapchat asks advertisers to keep the top 150 and bottom 330 pixels clear. LinkedIn publishes no safe zone for vertical video, only advice to keep the edges clear. Threads has no safe zone; in its feed, ads taller than 4:5 are cropped to 4:5 around the centre.
How to check a video
- Drop the video, or click the buttonNothing is uploaded: the browser reads the file.
- Scrub to a framePick the moment with the most text on screen, usually the first seconds.
- Look at every phoneAnything under a shaded area is covered on that network. Drag in a phone to test another framing.
- Fix it in your editorMove the text into the safe-everywhere box, or use the template as a guide layer.
One video, every network
Once it fits, post it everywhere at once. Breakreach publishes the same vertical video to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and more at the time you pick, from ChatGPT, Claude or the calendar. See how it works.

Short answers about the parts of a vertical video the apps cover.
The part of a vertical video that the app doesn't cover with its buttons, captions and menus. Text and faces placed inside it stay visible.
On a 1080 × 1920 video, keep 240 pixels at the top, 660 at the bottom and 120 on each side clear, plus a 180-pixel column of buttons on the right from 840 pixels down. These come from TikTok's own ad template.
Keep 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% on each side clear: 269, 672 and 65 pixels on a 1080 × 1920 frame. The same numbers apply to Facebook Reels and Stories.
Google gives 288 pixels at the top, 672 at the bottom, 48 on the left and 192 on the right, for vertical video ads including Shorts. YouTube publishes nothing separate for organic Shorts.
The Ads Guide still gives 14% top, 35% bottom and 6% on each side for Reels and Stories, and 40% at the bottom for ads with a disclaimer. Meta's general help page now only says to keep the edges clear.
Yes, their overlap: a 660 × 842 box starting 120 pixels from the left and 288 from the top of a 1080 × 1920 frame, clear on TikTok, Reels, Stories, Shorts and Pinterest.
The networks publish them for ads, but organic videos get the same player, buttons and caption. They are the best official guide for both.
