The bill grows with every contact

ManyChat's Essential plan includes 250 active contacts, then charges $0.10 for each extra one. A reel that brings 3,000 people into your DMs in a month calls for Pro: $39 plus $0.05 for each of the 500 contacts past its 2,500, so $64.

The free plan stops at 25 contacts

ManyChat's free plan covers 25 active contacts a month and 4 live automations, with its branding and without the follower status check.

Where to go: Zorcha (no cap), ReplyRush (1,500 DMs a month), LinkDM (1,000 DMs), Inrō (100 contacts). Meta Business Suite also has basic automations for free, except for messages to or from Europe and Japan.

No MCP server, and an API that can't build automations

ManyChat's API (from Pro) manages contacts, tags and fields and triggers existing flows; it has no endpoint to create a comment to DM or a keyword flow. There's no official MCP server: a user asked for one on ManyChat's community board on September 30, 2026.

More builder than you need

If the whole plan is “comment GUIDE, get the link”, a canvas with tags, custom fields and sequences is a lot to maintain.

Stay on ManyChat if your DMs are a funnel. It has the deepest Instagram feature set we read (Live to DM, ref links and QR codes, ads to DM, a follower status check, email and phone capture), AI from Pro, and WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, SMS and email in the same builder. It also runs Meta's Follow to DM beta, which greets new followers on accounts Meta makes eligible.

Pro adds multi-message flows, follow-ups and email or phone capture for $9.99 a month billed yearly. Its MCP server at zorcha.com/mcp lists, creates, edits, starts and stops automations from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex.

The public reply under the comment, the Follower Growth Tool, Live and inbox automations are Pro. Per its help center, the follow tool checks whether the person follows you and sends the link anyway after two to four failed checks.
