MCP servers

Telegram MCP servers in 2026.Most of them log in as you.

Telegram has no official MCP server. The most-starred ones sign in as your personal account over Telegram's MTProto API, with an api_id, your phone number and a login code, so they read your chats and act as you. To post to a channel, a bot that's an admin of it is enough: that's how Bot API servers and Breakreach's hosted connector work.

Our recommendation

To post to Telegram from an assistant, use Breakreach. We built it, so here's the case.

Connect Telegram
  • It posts as a bot you make admin of your channel, so it never holds your personal account or reads your chats
  • Nothing to host and no bot to create: add @BreakreachBot to the channel, connect it once, then ask Claude or ChatGPT
  • Scheduled posts, with the same connector covering your other networks

When to pick something else. Breakreach posts to channels, one photo or one video per message, without albums, documents or formatting, and only reports the member count. If you want an assistant inside your own chats, that's what the MTProto servers do, with the risks Telegram describes.

The kinds of Telegram MCP serverHow each one gets to your account.

Your personal account, over MTProto

chigwell/telegram-mcp, the most-starred Telegram MCP server, and mcp-telegram/mcp-telegram sign in as you, with an api_id and api_hash from my.telegram.org and a phone or QR login. They read and send in any chat you're in. Telegram says accounts that log in with unofficial API clients are automatically put under observation, and that flooding or spamming gets them banned.

A bot

Bot API servers use a token from @BotFather. A bot can post to a channel where it's an admin with the right to post messages, sees only the chats it's added to, and never touches your account.

A bot, hosted

Breakreach runs the bot. You add @BreakreachBot as an admin of your channel, connect the channel in Breakreach, and ask; posts go out from our servers at the time you set.

What Telegram's API lets a server doThe rules every server works within.

  • Bots in channelsA bot posts to a channel by its @username once it's an admin with the right to post messages.
  • Bot rate limitsAbout one message a second per chat, 20 a minute in a group, and 30 a second for broadcasts, per Telegram's bot FAQ.
  • User accountsTelegram's API terms forbid acting on a user's behalf without their knowledge, and accounts on unofficial clients are watched. Exceeding limits returns FLOOD_WAIT errors.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Short answers about Telegram MCP servers.

No. Telegram doesn't publish one; every Telegram MCP server is built by a third party.

It gets the same access as you: every chat, every contact. Telegram says accounts on unofficial API clients are put under observation and that flooding or spam gets them banned. To post to a channel, a bot is enough.

Yes, once it's an admin of the channel with the right to post messages. Breakreach uses its own bot, @BreakreachBot.

Not with Breakreach yet: one photo or one video per message, and text without bold or italics.

In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Discover, search Breakreach, Connect. In ChatGPT: Settings → Plugins, search Breakreach, Connect. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http breakreach https://api.breakreach.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Then add @BreakreachBot as an admin of your channel and connect it in Breakreach.
