Tumblr MCP servers in 2026.No official one, and few that post.
Tumblr has no official MCP server, and the MCP registry listed none for Tumblr on October 8, 2026. The open-source ones are small and run on your machine with a Tumblr app you register yourself. Zapier's MCP server can call its Tumblr actions, and Apify's Tumblr servers only read public posts. Hosted schedulers, Breakreach and Postiz among them, post and schedule through Tumblr's API.

To post to Tumblr from an assistant, use Breakreach. We built it, so here's the case.
Connect Tumblr- Nothing to register: no Tumblr app of your own, no setup script, no tokens in a config file on your machine
- Every blog your login can post to, main, side or group, becomes its own account, picked once when you connect
- Scheduled posts go out from Breakreach's servers with the chat closed, alongside the same post on your other networks
When to pick something else. Breakreach only creates original posts, with no reblogs, asks or polls, and doesn't read your dashboard or notes beyond the counts. For an assistant that reblogs and browses Tumblr, the open-source server above does that on your own machine, with your own Tumblr app.
The kinds of Tumblr MCP serverHow each one gets to your account.
No official server
Tumblr publishes its API docs and client libraries on GitHub, but no MCP server, and the official MCP registry had no Tumblr entry on October 8, 2026. Every Tumblr MCP server below is third-party.
Open source, with your own Tumblr app
The tumblr-mcp server in SweetSunnyBunny/Sharing-MCPs (a collection with 5 GitHub stars) runs on your machine: you register a Tumblr app, its setup script runs OAuth 2, and the tokens stay in a local file. It posts text, a photo by URL, quotes and links through Tumblr's legacy post endpoint, reblogs, and reads your dashboard. Mimran0715/tumblr-mcp is a work in progress whose README reports OAuth trouble.
Zapier's MCP server
Zapier MCP exposes the actions of Zapier's Tumblr app, creating text, photo, quote, link, video or audio posts, to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. You connect Tumblr in Zapier and choose which actions the assistant may call.
Scrapers
Apify lists several Tumblr actors as MCP servers. They read public posts, tags, media and note counts without your login, and none of them posts.
Hosted schedulers
Breakreach and Postiz hold the Tumblr authorization and post for you. Postiz Cloud asks which blog each channel posts to; Breakreach lists your blogs and turns each one you tick into its own account. Scheduled posts go out from their servers.
What Tumblr's API lets a server doThe rules every server works within.
- OAuth 2 and short tokensAn app registered at tumblr.com/oauth/apps, then OAuth 2 with basic, write and offline_access. Access tokens last 42 minutes, and each refresh hands out a new refresh token.
- NPF postsPOST /v2/blog/{blog}/posts with content as blocks: text with headings, lists and quotes, images, a video. Files go up in the same multipart request, up to 30 images and 1 uploaded video per post.
- Limits1,000 calls an hour and 5,000 a day for the whole app, all users together; 250 posts, 250 images and 20 videos a day per user.
- The API agreementApps post only on an explicit action of the person, who sees where the post goes, without floods of near-identical posts, and say somewhere that they're built with Tumblr, "Powered by Tumblr" style.
What Breakreach's Tumblr tools doAnd what they don't, yet.
What you can ask for
- Photos or a videoUp to 30 photos, or one video, uploaded to Tumblr above your text.
- Formatted text# and ## headings, lists, quotes, **bold**, *italic* and links, as Tumblr's own text formatting. There's no title: your first line stays the first line.
- Tags and draftsTags go out as Tumblr tags, spaces allowed. Or leave the post in the blog's drafts to finish it on Tumblr.
- Scheduling and statsAt a time you give, or the next free slot of your posting schedule. Likes and reblogs per post, followers per blog; Tumblr doesn't count views.
Not yet, or not possible
- Reblogs, asks and polls
- Audio posts and link cards
- Queued or private posts
- Reading your dashboard or replies

What to askThree requests that work on Tumblr today.
- “Post the roastery, pour-over and latte photos to Tumblr with a short caption, tagged coffee and morning light”
- “Schedule a week of Tumblr posts from these photos, one a day at 6 PM”
- “How many reblogs did my last five Tumblr posts get?”

Short answers about Tumblr MCP servers.
No. Tumblr publishes its API docs and client libraries on GitHub, but no MCP server, and the official MCP registry listed none for Tumblr on October 8, 2026. Every Tumblr MCP server is third-party.
Yes, through a server that holds a Tumblr authorization: Breakreach, Postiz, Zapier's MCP server, or an open-source server with your own Tumblr app. Breakreach publishes or schedules the post on the blog you name.
With Breakreach, yes. When you connect, it lists every blog your login can post to, from Tumblr's own list, and each one you tick becomes its own account.
Its API agreement asks for an explicit action from you that shows where the post goes, and forbids floods of near-identical posts. With Breakreach the assistant posts what you asked for on the blog you named, and each scheduled post sits in your calendar until it goes out.
In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Discover, search Breakreach, Connect. In ChatGPT: Settings → Plugins, search Breakreach, Connect. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http breakreach https://api.breakreach.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Then connect Tumblr in Breakreach: Settings, Add channel, Tumblr, and allow Breakreach on Tumblr's page.
