Hashnode MCP servers in 2026.Hashnode runs its own, and writing needs Pro.
Hashnode runs its own MCP server at mcp.hashnode.com/mcp since September 22, 2026: you add it by URL, approve the connection on Hashnode, and it can create, read, update, list and delete posts. Everything but reading a post needs Pro on the blog. Most open-source servers still call gql.hashnode.com, which now redirects. Breakreach's hosted connector publishes and schedules Hashnode posts alongside your social posts.

How we roast Morning Light
Northbeam Coffee·Oct 8·1 min readEleven minutes from green bean to bag. We start low to dry the beans, push through first crack, then stop early to keep the honey and orange notes.
That early stop is why it tastes lighter than our other coffees, and why it works as well in a latte as in a pour-over.
Hashnode MCP servers compared
| How it connects | What it does | Publishes posts | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breakreach | Hosted. A Hashnode token pasted once in Breakreach; OAuth from Claude's and ChatGPT's directories | Publishes and schedules posts with a cover and tags, next to your social posts; views, reactions and comments | Yes, On Pro blogs, at the time you set |
| Hashnode's MCP server | Hosted by Hashnode at mcp.hashnode.com/mcp. Added by URL in Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and other clients; you approve it on Hashnode | Creates, reads, updates, lists and deletes posts on your blogs. Hashnode calls it v1 | Yes, With Pro |
| Hashnode CLI (not an MCP server) | @hashnode/cli on your machine. Browser login, or a token in HASHNODE_PAT for coding agents and CI | Posts and drafts from Markdown files, cover uploads, --json output for scripts | Yes, With Pro |
| kieksme/mcp-hashnode | Open source, runs on your machine. A Personal Access Token | 11 tools: drafts, publishing, updating, deleting and listing posts | Not as published: it calls gql.hashnode.com, which now redirects |
| sbmagar13/hashnode-mcp-server, Alsaheem/blogging-mcp | Open source; blogging-mcp is also hosted, with your tokens in request headers | Create, update and search articles; blogging-mcp also posts to Dev.to | Not as published: same old endpoint |
| Schedulers (Postiz, Upload-Post) | Hosted, with their own MCP servers. Your Hashnode token in their app | Hashnode posts among their other networks; Upload-Post sends text only | Yes |
To post to Hashnode from an assistant, use Breakreach. We built it, so here's the case.
Connect Hashnode- The article and its LinkedIn and X posts in one request, scheduled for the same morning
- Scheduling without the dashboard: Breakreach holds the post and publishes it at the time from its servers
- The same connector reaches Dev.to, Ghost, WordPress and 15 other networks, so one article can go out everywhere
When to pick something else. On Hashnode alone, Hashnode's own server does more: it reads, updates and deletes your posts, which Breakreach can't once a post is out. Both need Pro on the blog. If editing the posts you already have is the job, start with Hashnode's.
The kinds of Hashnode MCP serverHow each one gets to your account.
Hashnode's own server
Live since September 22, 2026 at https://mcp.hashnode.com/mcp. Any MCP client adds it by URL (in Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http hashnode-mcp https://mcp.hashnode.com/mcp), you approve the connection, and it can create, read, update, list and delete posts. Creating, updating, listing and deleting need Pro. Each connection shows in your Developer Settings, where you can cut it off at once. Hashnode calls it v1, with more tools to come.
The Hashnode CLI, for coding agents
Released on October 6, 2026: npm install -g @hashnode/cli, then post create with a Markdown file, drafts, cover uploads and --json output. A person logs in through the browser; an agent or a CI job sets a token in HASHNODE_PAT. It needs Pro too. Hashnode also publishes Hashnode/gql-skill, which teaches a coding agent the GraphQL API, and a GitHub Action that publishes the Markdown files you push.
Open source, with your token
kieksme/mcp-hashnode, sbmagar13/hashnode-mcp-server, Alsaheem/blogging-mcp and Pipepost, which also covers Dev.to and Ghost, take a Personal Access Token. The most-starred have 7 GitHub stars. On October 8, 2026, all four still call gql.hashnode.com, which answers with a redirect since the API moved to gql-beta.hashnode.com, so they need that fix before they publish.
Hosted schedulers
Breakreach, Postiz and Upload-Post hold your Hashnode token and publish for you. Breakreach's difference is scheduling from a conversation in Claude or ChatGPT, with the article in the same request as its social posts.
What Hashnode's API lets a server doThe rules every server works within.
- Pro on every blogSince May 13, 2026, each request that reads or writes a blog needs Hashnode Pro on it, $5 a month per seat. Without it, the answer is FORBIDDEN: "Publication does not have an active Pro plan".
- A new endpointThe API lives at https://gql-beta.hashnode.com/. gql.hashnode.com answers with a redirect to Hashnode's announcement, which is what breaks the older servers.
- TokensA Personal Access Token from Settings → Developer can publish, edit and delete on every blog its owner has. Team blogs where you're only a member aren't in the list the API returns.
- No schedulingThe API has no scheduling mutation; scheduled publishing is in the Pro dashboard. A tool that schedules has to hold the post and publish it at the time.
What Breakreach's Hashnode tools doAnd what they don't, yet.
What you can ask for
- ArticlesThe first line is the title; the rest goes to Hashnode as Markdown, headings, lists, links and code blocks included.
- Cover and photosThe first photo is the cover, copied to Hashnode's CDN; up to 9 more follow the text.
- Tags, canonical URL, draftsUp to 15 tags, created if Hashnode doesn't have them, the original article's address when it's a copy, or a draft left in the blog's dashboard.
- Scheduling and statsAt a time you give or the next free slot, from Breakreach's servers. Views, reactions and comments per post, and the blog's followers.
Not yet, or not possible
- Blogs without Hashnode Pro
- Team blogs where you're only a member
- Series, subtitles, SEO fields and co-authors
- Videos, and editing or deleting a published post

In Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP clientOne hosted server, OAuth or an API key.
The server lives at https://api.breakreach.com/mcp and speaks Streamable HTTP, so there is nothing to install. Clients that handle OAuth sign you in; others send an API key from Settings → API & MCP.

What to askThree requests that work on Hashnode today.
- “Copy our Morning Light roasting post to Hashnode tomorrow at 9 AM, with the canonical URL pointing to our site”
- “Publish this changelog on Hashnode tagged javascript and webdev, and share it on LinkedIn at 10 AM”
- “How many views did my last three Hashnode posts get?”
Questions, answered.
Short answers about Hashnode MCP servers.
Yes, since September 22, 2026, at https://mcp.hashnode.com/mcp. It creates, reads, updates, lists and deletes posts, and creating, updating, listing and deleting need Hashnode Pro on the blog. Hashnode also has a CLI for coding agents.
To publish, yes, whichever tool you use. Since May 13, 2026, Hashnode's API only answers for blogs on Pro, $5 a month per seat, and Hashnode's own server and CLI need Pro to write too.
Most were written for gql.hashnode.com, which now answers with a 301 redirect to Hashnode's announcement. Point the server at https://gql-beta.hashnode.com/, and check the blog is on Pro.
Breakreach connects the blogs your token's owner owns: a team blog you created connects, one you were invited to doesn't, because Hashnode's API doesn't list it.
In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Discover, search Breakreach, Connect. In ChatGPT: Settings → Plugins, search Breakreach, Connect. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http breakreach https://api.breakreach.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Then connect Hashnode in Breakreach: paste a token from hashnode.com/settings/developer and pick your blogs. For Hashnode's own server, add https://mcp.hashnode.com/mcp wherever your client takes a custom server.
Creating a Breakreach account and connecting your first social account is free. Scheduling and publishing need a plan, from $29 a month ($23 billed yearly) for 5 accounts. Hashnode Pro on the blog is extra, $5 a month per seat, paid to Hashnode.
