YouTube MCP servers in 2026.Most read transcripts. Few upload.

There's no official YouTube MCP server. The popular ones read transcripts, search results and channel data. To upload from Claude or ChatGPT, a server needs the YouTube Data API with your Google sign-in, and a Google project that hasn't passed YouTube's audit can only upload private videos. Most YouTube MCP servers read. kimtaeyoon83/mcp-server-youtube-transcript and anaisbetts/mcp-youtube fetch captions without a key, from YouTube's site or with yt-dlp. ZubeidHendricks/youtube-mcp-server searches videos and channels with a Data API key. None of them uploads.

Uploads with your own Google project

anwerj/youtube-uploader-mcp and pauling-ai/youtube-mcp-server upload through the Data API with an OAuth client you create in Google Cloud. YouTube's rule applies to them: videos uploaded from an unverified API project created after July 28, 2020 are restricted to private viewing until the project passes an API compliance audit.
